ALDERLEY Edge have been knocked off top spot in the ECB Premier League.
They were held to a losing draw at improving Bramhall and it left the door open for Chester Boughton Hall to leapfrog them and taken an eight-point lead.
Bramhall batted well to post 253 from 51 overs.
Top scorers were Ifti Naseer (70), Matt Higginbottom (50), and Dan Lamb (45), with Hamish Winter-Irving claiming 4-62.
Alderley were left with 59 overs to reply, but fell short at 191-9.
Richard Wilkinson followed up his 3-45 return before tea with a fine knock of 74.
In the end it took last pair Andy Windle and Alan Condliffe to hold out, with Higginbottom claiming 3-21.
Bramhall pocketed 15 points to rise to eighth place.
Chester Boughton Hall took over top spot with eight games remaining with a seven-wicket victory at Didsbury.
