ALDERLEY Edge Golf Club’s men played a medal for the ‘major’ Harold Humphreys prize.

It was won by Garry Olson with 65, taking him one clear of Matthew Hodgson and club legend Jerry Dixon.

Edge’s ladies played a singles stableford supporting the Golf Foundation and Claire Roberts led in with 40 points from Karen Pennington, 38, Julie Ricketts, 36, and Tracy Smith, 35.

It was Captain’s Day for Wilmslow’s men and Alun Williams picked up Pep Smith’s top prize with a nett 68 taking him across the line from Mike Schofield, 69, and Richard Ingle who led in six players on 70.

Wilmslow’s juniors played the third summer holiday stableford and it was won with 33 points by Will Lucas from Katie Roberts, 30, and Jamie Roberts, 29.

Styal’s men played for the Professional’s Cup and it was won by Chris Hudson with 67 from Sam Hall, 69, and Khalil Musa, 70.

Aptly named John Parr was a clear winner as Styal’s seniors played for the President’s putter.

His 42 points put him clear of Michael Hannon, 39, and Paul Suchoparek and Alan Carroll, both 38.

Wednesday stableford action at Styal saw Simon Tracey in charge with 39 points from Will Lucas, 36, and Ben Tucker and Ivan Bloor, both 34.

Styal’s women were in medal mode, with Rita Barton on top with 73 from Enid Laverty, 74, and Sue Grange, 79.

Marple Golf Club hosted the annual mixed-age boys’ match between Cheshire and Derbyshire, with Styal’s Jack Muir and Will Lucas among Cheshire’s winners in a 10-8 loss.
