ALDERLEY Edge's grip on the ECB Premier League title is slipping by the week.

The reigning champions lost for the third time in four games on Saturday, leaving them to continue the fall out of this season's reckoning.

Top two Chester Boughton Hall and Nantwich both won comfortably, putting third-placed Edge 33 points adrift of the leaders and 21 points behind the Dabbers.

Edge, who host fourth-placed Toft this weekend, lost by 19 runs at Cheadle, who have edged out of the relegation zone as a result.

The winners totalled 237-7, with Dan Brown contributing an unbeaten 95 and Greg Dixon 55.

Andy Windle performed best of the bowlers with 3-54.

In reply Alderley lost their last wicket at 218.

Khalid Sawas led the response with 77, while Tom Foreman chipped in with 32 and Harry Appleyard claimed a vital 4-61 for the Kingsway men.
