WILMSLOW Golf Club juniors played for the Robinson Trophy and former junior captain Hywel Shaw showed his class.

He led in with 67 from Dan Fosbrook, 71, and Ben Tomlinson, 74.

Wilmslow’s women were in medal mode as they played for the Bell House Cup and Putter. Heather Coxson won a card play-off on 71 from Michele Marr, three less than Ann Pater and Jill Dodson.

A singles stableford for Alderley Edge’s men produced some good scores led by Matthew Robinson with 44 points, one more than Nigel Howells and Chris Edwards.

Edge’s women played a par competition as a Brenda Hendry qualifier and top of the shop on level par was Tracy Smith from Jean Walker, Alison Roberts and Wendy Rule, all -1.

Max Nicholson posted an impressive 64 to win Styal juniors’ Amy Watson-Wright Memorial Trophy. Patrick Sharrocks finished on 67 and Ben Craven on 68.

Styal’s men played for the Alan bethel Memorial Trophy and junior star Ryan Owen won a cpo from Patrick Sharrocks with Howard Rice next in with 74.

A Charity Day Yellow Tee medal was contested by Styal’s seniors and Daniel Tuohy posted a massive 45 points to cruise home from David Melia, 40, and Phil Moore, 39.

Styal’s women played the latest round of the Summer Cup and Nancy Chorlton won a cpo on 18 points from Pat Chadwick, two more than Joan Chapman.
