ALDERLEY Edge Golf Club staged the first County Nine-Hole Championship in England.
A challenging course was provided for a field including men, women and juniors from across the county.
Setting the pace were first-out players Alderley Edge captain Bill Fisher with 38 points and his playing partner Sale GC junior Adam Carr with 37 as their nine-hole scores had 18 points added.
Their scores proved to be too hot to handle, though Carr needed to come through a card play-off with Alderley Edge’s G Johnstone and Prestbury’s Tom Hollingworth to take the runners-up trophy.
