Waddell the leading pro in Bert Thompson Trophy
ALISTAIR Waddell was the leading professional in the Manchester Alliance meeting for the Bert Thompson Trophy at Didsbury Golf Club.
The Styal Golf Club pro, partnered with amateur Charles Herbert, finished second on 42 points to Ashton on Mersey pair Ollie Smith and Steve McDermott, 44, in the pro-am competition.
Waddell's 39pts put him ahead of Smith, 37, and Bury's Nick Holmes, 36, in the pro placings.
