ALDERLEY Edge Hockey Club’s men secured an emphatic 7-0 win at Formby in the North Premier League.

Billy Healey broke the deadlock, chipping in a great pass from Oli Parker.

Edge, fourth on the ladder ahead of University of Durham’s visit on Saturday, started to dominate possession, which led to Simon Parr and Whitehead netting before half time.

Angus McCormick fired two balls into the top right in the second half, with James Warburton also scoring a brace.

The women’s team, who also face University of Durham this weekend and also sit fourth in their North Premier League, won their match against Kendal 2-1.

Edge initially struggled to find a way to break down Kendal but Sarah Hopkin and in-form Lexi Archer eventually did so, with Rachel Humpherson receiving the player of the match honour for an outstanding performance in goal.
