Matt Westbrook put the resultant penalty stroke into the left of the goal.

A flowing piece of play from the back through to Hallinan saw him turn and put the ball under the goalie to make it 3-0.

Stockton managed to bundle the ball over the goal line but Wilmslow kept their heads and saw out the game.

The men's seconds thumped Wrexham 8-1 with four goals from Steve Edmonds and a brace each from Ric Pheiffer and James Bell, whose tally rose to 10 goals in four matches.

Only an umpiring error to award Timperley a short corner deep into the second half broke the deadlock.

An initial shot was thwarted but Wilmslow were unable to clear the ball and a lifted shot found the net.

Wilmslow went on the attack with more determination than before.

They were level within five minutes, a fast break finding numbers in the D and Walters managing to get the ball across the line.
