WILMSLOW Sports Pumas marched into the semi finals of the Cheshire County Cup with a 5-0 victory over Goostrey Juniors.

The tournament has so far seen the Pumas, who are based at Lacey Green Pavilion, end the hopes of numerous clubs across Cheshire.

Manager Brad Monks is delighted with how the team are performing.

He said: “The lads have been brilliant so far this season and are doing all they can to make it a special season in the club's 50th year.

"We have had some tough challenges in this tournament so far against some great teams so to reach the last four is a fantastic achievement but knowing these lads they’ll be wanting to go further.

“As well as the progression through the rounds the other pleasing aspect is the quality of football that they are playing which has earned praise from the opposition and referees alike.

"They are a credit to the club and hopefully the whole community can get behind them in their challenges this season."

The semi-final will take place early February.

Another semi-final is in sight too.

The team booked their place in the Timperley Cup quarter finals with a brilliant 7-0 win against Trafford on Sunday.
