WILMSLOW Hockey Club's senior women's team played host to an Oldham side sitting unusually low in the league table and secured a 4-0 win.

Within five minutes a quick long corner saw Hall pass to Harrison who in turn found Westbrook unmarked near the shoulder of the D.

A perfectly timed slap was sent to Rachubka, who expertly deflected it high into the roof of the net making it 1-0.

With lovely passing from Walters, Troup and E. Kelman, forwards Senior and Botha repeatedly forced saves from the Oldham keeper.

Rachubka found herself perfectly positioned to reverse flick the ball into the back of the net, doubling both her and Wilmslow’s goal tally.

With the home side forcing more errors, a series of short corners ensued.

A neat top D routine with Westbrook saw Rachubka strike the ball seamlessly into the backboard for her hat-trick just before the end of the first half.

High workrate and intense pressure created more chances and forced repeated saves from an excellent Oldham keeper.

Eventually the wall gave way as Hall, finding herself unusually high in the D, calmly reverse lifted the ball over the keeper to conclude the scoring.

The ladies travel to nearby Triton this weekend, where they hope to prove that the best team in orange plays in Styal.
