FUTURE professional footballers could hail from sessions watched by talent-spotters at Wilmslow High School.

Young footballers from across Cheshire enjoyed a day of academy training and a chance to show off their abilities in front of Premier League club scouts.

The event was hosted by local sports coaching company, Premier Football Coaching (PFC), who work closely with high schools and junior football clubs to select and invite the region`s most promising talent between the ages of 11-16.

In line with PFC`s ongoing commitment to provide young, talented footballers a platform to further their training and football journey, the invite only Showcase and Training Day at Wilmslow High School saw players enjoy a high standard of academy training in the morning and take part in matches in the afternoon.

A team of professional scouts from Manchester City, Rochdale, Everton and Burnley football clubs were in attendance throughout the day.

PFC director Russell Burling said: “The idea was formulated by our team of coaches who felt it would be beneficial to players, especially the older players, who will be finding it increasingly difficult to showcase their talents to professional clubs who largely concentrate on the younger age groups and the response was brilliant!

"The standard was very high and the scouts were extremely impressed and have already shown interest in several players.”

PFC has been providing professional football and sports coaching across Cheshire and Greater Manchester for over 20 years.

They run player development sessions every Monday at Wilmslow High School from 5pm to 7pm. See premierfc.com for further details.
