A WILMSLOW High School student has been offered a professional contract with rugby league Super League giants Warrington Wolves.
Max Gilbert, 16, featured for Warrington's talented unbeaten scholarship side this season, scoring three tries in five games.
The next step for the back-rower or centre would be to feature in Wolves' under 18s Academy team.
Gilbert's ability, along with his hard work and dedication, has been recognised by coaches at The Wire during his two years with the club.
Last season he was a member of the Warrington team that ended Wigan's unbeaten two-year sequence.
The former Stockport Grammar School pupil has previously represented his country in rugby union.
