ON Saturday 22 July, it took us nearly an hour to get into town on the metro. Coming home it was cancelled altogether.
The ticket machine at Dane Rd was covered over with “Out of Service” notices which meant a trawl back up the stairs, to the other side, and back again. Why on earth couldn’t they have put a sign at the top of the stairs?
Having missed a metro because of the machine, we then had to wait due to “communications problems” and then when one did come, it kept stopping for up to 15 minutes at a time, with no information given as to why.
When we got to Piccadilly Gardens to come home that evening, there were seven attendants standing on the platform sheltering from the rain. The metro was cancelled so they pointed randomly into the distance to get the bus “over there” somewhere. Not one of them would move out of their huddle, so we ended up running from stop to stop in the rain, till we found the right one. So much for customer care.
We pay top price for this “service” and, frankly, it was appalling. It would be interesting to hear how KeolisAmey defends itself.
