WILMSLOW Wolves have done it!

The first XV have defeated Driffield in the East Riding of Yorkshire 24-21 to secure promotion to the North Premier.

It means Rick Jones' men will be playing league rugby at the highest level in the club's history next season.

And what a way to do it.

Wolves, who have shown a never-say-die spirit in the run-in to securing second place in North West One, left it to the very last moment to clinch their glorious success.

On the last play of the game Wilmslow touched down in the corner through James Coulston to send their coach-load of supporters bananas on the sidelines while breaking the hearts of the sizeable home crowd in the process.

Wilmslow celebrations are expected to go long into the night...and well into Sunday morning too!

More details to follow.
