VISITORS found out more about the history of Thelwall during a heritage weekend.
Volunteers held the event, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund at Thelwall Parish Hall on Bell Lane, and All Saints Church Thelwall on Saturday and Sunday.
It was the showpiece occasion of the celebrations to mark the 175th anniversary of the founding of the current church in 1843.
The HLF have so far given volunteers a development grant which has been used for various pieces of exploratory work.
A fresh application is now being made for a much larger delivery grant, which would fund substantial work on the church and preservation of village heritage into the future.
The weekend featured talks, guided walks, demonstrations and activities with a special service taking place in church on Sunday to celebrate the landmark.
