A NORTHWICH man has been jailed for three years after admitting having sexual intercourse with a child.

Cameron Craik, 20, of Danefield Road, was jailed at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to six counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of making indecent images of a child and one count of possession of indecent images of a child.

Craik also pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault against a different child but was found guilty by a jury after a trial.

Craik was told to sign the sex offenders register for life and was given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) preventing him from having unsupervised contact with children.

Detective Constable Ryan Ogden said: “Craik was taking advantage of young girls by maintaining that they were in a relationship with him when in reality they were being taken advantage of for his sexual gratification.

“Craik did admit some of his behaviour but still dragged one of his victim’s through the court process which is stressful and traumatic for victims in these types of cases. Hopefully the convictions will give some closure to his victims.”
