A WEALTH management firm with bases in Knutsford and Wilmslow has reached a fundraising milestone as part of its 21st birthday celebrations.

Equilibrium hits its £21,000 target for charity as its 21st birthday celebrations culminated at a spectacular event at Tatton Park.

700 guests attended the Cheshire-based wealth management firm’s glamourous black tie event, which helped Equilibrium meet its fundraising target.

£5,500 was raised on the evening, which was then match-funded by The Equilibrium Foundation – the firm’s charitable arm – to bring the total amount raised to £11,000.

The night topped off a year of fundraising efforts which saw the firm commit to various activities and events to fundraise for charity, including bake sales, quizzes and endurance events such as Tough Mudder and Total Warrior.

The firm’s investment team of four also ran an impressive total of 210 miles across 27 athletic events.

All funds raised by the team throughout the year were matched by the The Equilibrium Foundation with £21,000 in total donated to five chosen charities; Francis House Children’s Hospice, The Christie Charitable Fund, Enthusiasm, Alzheimer’s Society and St. Kentigern Hospice.

Colin Lawson, founder and partner, said: “The whole year has been a fantastic celebration of what is a significant milestone for the business and our celebration at Tatton Park was a perfect way to bring those celebrations to a close for ourselves and for our clients.

“We’ve always believed strongly that given the fortunate position we find ourselves in it’s important for us to give something back. It’s something we’re really passionate about, and so it was entirely appropriate that to celebrate our 21st birthday we raised £21,000 for charities chosen by our staff and clients.

“That money will go to help some fantastic organisations who do extremely important work both locally and nationally so we’re extremely proud to have met our target.

“The team also volunteered their time with several charities across the year, which included completing two food collections for Chelwood food bank and spending time volunteering with Save the Family – a charity which provides accommodation and support for homeless and struggling families.

“Our 21st celebrations may have come to a close but there is a huge amount for us to look forward to in the coming year. We’ve expanded our team, now look after more clients and assets than ever before and are looking forward to building on our successes – so watch this space.”

Guests included Equilibrium’s clients and staff, plus supporters of the business over the years.
