A PRO’S stableford at Alderley Edge Golf Club proved to be a close contest.

Andrew Hogg won a card play-off on 38 points from Ben Gaunt.

Just a point off the pace were Andrew Marshall, Mike Troup and Ken Hall.

The Edge ladies’ monthly Bridgestone medal was won at a canter by Fiona Anderson.

Her stunning 65 was nine less than nearest rivals Olwen Davies and Yvonne Grundy.

A Saturday stableford for Styal’s men had division one topped by Chris Robins with 40 points.

Ben Tomlinson, 37, and Jon Roper and Chris Hudson, both 36, were the next best.

Division two honours went to Graham Blower with a fantastic haul of 47 points, taking him well clear of Ian Barber, 39, and Gavin Jamieson, 35.

Erin Parker matched the 47 pointer in the Mid Cheshire Junior League at Styal, five more than Harry Craven.

A Sunday ‘open to all’ stableford at Styal was won by Ifti Ahmed with 44 points from Steven Page, Dawn Mendes and Rob Cressey, all 38.

A ladies stableford at Styal was won by Sue Forster with a great haul of 42 points, taking her clear of Joan Chapman, 37, and Mel Hill and Pat Chadwick, both 35.

Meanwhile, a singles stableford at Mottram Hall was won by David Greenwell after a cpo on 41 points with Jim McAuley.

The ‘major’ Founders Vase at Prestbury was won by a delighted Oliver Procter with 65 ahead of Simon Bolam, 67, and Remy Miller and Alex Howarth, both 68.

A Mixed Foursomes at Prestbury was led in by N and A Wood with 40 points from E and S Dunckley, 38.
